Die Mutter aller Maerkte, der Wochenendmarkt von Chatuchak. Etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums befindet sich der wohl groesste non-food Markt Suedostasiens. Es gibt tausende von kleinen Staenden in einem Labyrinth von Gaesschen. Vor allem Kleider werden hier vermarktet. Man findet sowohl gefaelschte internationale Marken als auch lokale Labels, die von den Verkaeufern selber entworfen wurden. Teuer ist hier nichts. Wir finden T-Shirts, Roecke und Hosen fuer teils weniger als 3 CHF das Stueck. Ansonsten kriegt man hier auch Kuechenaccessoirs, Plastikblumen, Moebel, Buecher, Masken, echte Kampfhaehne, Hackenkreuzfahnen, die neben John Lennon Poster verkauft werden und was natuerlich nicht fehlen darf: "Chinagruempel". Neben all den tollen Sachen trifft man auch immer wieder auf ganz besondere Charaktere wie einen asiatischen Cowboy, nicht groesser als ein Tisch und einen blinden Thai-Punk, der von oben bis unten mit Taetowierungen uebersaeht ist.
The mother of all markets, the weekend market of Chatuchak. The probably biggest non-food market in southeastasia is located a bit outside of the centre. There are tousands of little stands and a whole maze of little ways through them. Especially clothes are sold here. One finds fake international brands as well as local labels, mostly designed by the shop owner her/himself. Nothing is expensive here. We found t-shirts, skirts and pants for less than 3 SFr the piece. Elsewise you would also get kitchen accessoirs, plastic flowers, furniture, books, masks, real fighting cocks, nazi-flags sold next to John Lennon posters and last but not least: "Useless crap from China". Besides all these fancy things one can meet some special characters every now and then like the asian cow boy, not taller than a desk or the blind thai punk who is covered with tatoos all over his body.
