Dank dem unerwartet schönen Wetter führt unser Sonntagsausflug diesmal in luftige Höhen. Der Säntis ist mit 2501 m der höchste Berg der Ostschweiz. Mit der Schwebebahn geht’s vom grünen Auenwald (man wäre nicht überrascht, würden einem Frodo & Konsorte über den Weg laufen) rauf in luftige Höhen, hautnah an den schroffen Felsvorsprüngen vorbei. Oben angekommen erwartet uns ein überwältigender Anblick. Man fühlt sich wie im Himalaya. Vom Gipfel aus sieht man Berge in allen 5 Nachbarländern der Schweiz. Nachdem wir das Alpenpanorama und die Flug- und Fresskünste der Bergdohlen ausgiebig bestaunt hatten, ging’s rein ins wohlig warme Bergrestaurant und ran an Chässpätzli und Olmabratwurst. Auf dem Weg zurück auf die Schwägalp saugen wir nochmals die unglaubliche Aussicht auf und uns beiden ist klar: in Sachen Berge kann uns keiner so schnell das Wasser reichen!
Thanks to the surprisingly good weather we decide to go on a Sunday trip into dizzy height. Mount Säntis is the highest mountain of Eastern Switzerland (2501m). The cable way brings us straight from the green fields straight to the top. The view on the peak is stunning. One can see the alpine arena in full scale. Rough rocks, snowy dust that is blown across the cliffs and birds that seem to stand still due to the breeze that allows them to float where they are. After a short walk around the antenna, we enjoy "Chäspätzli" and the famous "Olmabratwurst" in the restaurant nearby. On the way down it became again quite clear that this in terms of mountains, this country has quite something to offer.
