Santiago ist keine wirklich aussergewoehnliche Stadt, es gibt aber ein paar schoene Flecken, so zum Beispiel den Cerro Santa Lucia - ein Park in Huegelform, Cerro San Cristobal - etwas hoeher und mit einem guten Ausblick ueber die Stadt und die Berge im Hintergrund, das Bellavista-Viertel mit vielen Strassenbildern und Kuenstlerateliers und als letztes Special: das Haus von Pablo Neruda. Dieser Herr ist Chile's beruehmtester Poet (keine Bange, wir haben ihn vorher auch nicht gekannt) und ein begnadeter Sammler der verschiedensten Kuriositaeten. Eine Tour durch eines seiner Wohnhaeuser (davon gibt's 3 im Land) ist sehr unterhaltsam und absolut empfehlenswert.
Santiago isn't an extraordinary city but there are a few hot spots: Cerro Santa Lucia is a hill-shaped park, Cerro San Cristobal is a higher hill that has a good view over the whole city and the surrounding mountains and the Bellavista area is very bohemian like with streetart all over it. The last special is the house of Pablo Neruda. He's Chile's most famous poet (don't feel ashamed, we didn't know him before eighter) and a collector of curiosities of all sorts. A tour through one of his houses (there are 3 in the country) is very entertaining and we would absolutely recommend.
